My teeny tiny Inglot haul

Matte 335 | AMC 65 | AMC 55

A few weeks ago I decided to pop into inglot whilst I was on a little shopping excursion, I already own a palette from them and as I love the pigmentation of their eyeshadows, I decided that I will be extending my collection. I only picked up 3 as I didn't want to go wild. I noticed that there weren't as many matte shades available as I thought there would be, I know since purchasing my palette they've put out a slew of new shades. I'm guessing that I'll have to go online to get them.

I got pretty neutral shades, but I know I'll get use out of them, and I also picked up a black with blue glitter  just because it was purdy. These eyeshadow only set me back £4.50 each, which I think is a steal for the quality and the amount of product that you get.

Mode Du Jour: Subtly Smokey Sable

I've wanted to do a video on my go to eyeshadow look for a long time, I don't hear people talk about sable much which is a shame as it's one of my favourites. I love it because it's one of those eyeshadows that works with everything, it's a really interesting colour too, it can lean purple or more brown depending on the eyeshadow you pair it with. So needless to say, it's a well loved item in my collection.

Bioderma review

I finally gave into curiosity and gave Bioderma a go, it's that product that you don't what to try out because it's so hyped, but yet you still kind of do because everyone won't stop going on about it. As you can see my bottle if half way gone, so I've using the heck out of this stuff.

Bioderma is supposed to be a makeup remover for both the eyes and the face, but to be honest I only use it to remove my face makeup. I usually use an eye makeup remover to take off my eye makeup, and I'd use something else for my face. I know everyone goes on about this being fantastic as an all round remover, but I just don't think it's up to the task when it comes to my eye makeup. It just doesn't remove everything like I'd like it to. I place the Bioderma soaked cotton pad on my eye for around 10 seconds, and then swipe it off. It takes off mascara like a dream and most if not all of my eye makeup in a couple of swipes. "So what's your problem?" you may ask, well it transfers. After I've thought I've removed everything, I'll look in the mirror and see that my liquid liner or mascara had transferred to my lower lash line, I very rarely line there so I  find it really annoying that it does this. It means extra tugging, which I'm not cool with, my usual eye makeup remover never does this to me.

Another issue I have with this is that, after I have taken off my face makeup with it, it often feels quite dry. However as I always follow it up with a creamy cleanser, I double cleanse, it's not something I take too much of an issue with.
On the plus side, it's an excellent face makeup remover, it takes off every last drop on my face. Whenever I wear a full face I'm pretty OCD about taking it all off, and this does the trick. On the whole I have to say I do love it, despite the issue that I have, for me all of them can be overcome which is great. Will I repurchase? Yes I would, but when this finishes I'll probably look for a more accessible alternative as I had to get this on eBay

Have you tried it?

NYX long lip pencil haul

Auburn, Chestnut, Cocoa, Cabaret and Prune

I've been eyeing up NYX for a such a long time, I've heard so much praise for their products from bloggers and youtubers, so I'm surprised with myself that it took so long for me to take the plunge and give the brand a go. I'm not a big lip liner person, it's a step that I've never been too bothered with, but there have been times when I'll pop on a lippy and think that It would look even better with a liner. Also when I'm putting together looks for a tutorial, I feel it would be great to have the variation, instead of using the same old thing all the time.

So far just from swatching I've found them to be super creamy and glide on with ease, one was so creamy in fact that the tip broke mid swatch :/. I'll have to use them more to get a better gauge of them, but so far I'm pleased. There were a few that were sold out when I made my order on ebay, so I'll definitely be picking up a few more.

I purchased mine from this seller on eBay, they were only £1.50 so you can't really go wrong.Do you own any NYX products?

Glamorous Neutrals

I'm trying to get back into the swing of filming tutorials, I seriously forgot how time consuming they were, but I'm glad to be getting back to them. This look was requested a really long time ago and I'm now only getting round to doing it, at least I did it right? :D I think you can now look forward to more tutorials.

NARS Albatross Highlighter

Albatross was my favourite highlighter for quite some time, I used to use it everyday, however sleeks rose gold blush came along and change it all. Don't get me wrong Albatross is a beautiful highlighter, but compared to the sleek highlighter, albatross comes off as a bit stark.
In its defence I would say that it's a product that gets better as the day goes on and my skin gets a little bit oiler, it give such a beautiful glow to my cheek bones, that's when I'm reminded why I loved it so much. Also I've found that when all of my blush has worn off at the end of the day, this highlighter is still going strong, so the lasting power is fantastic.

The highlighter looks white in the pan, but once it is swatched, you can see it blends out into a beautiful gold, I feel like the tone of gold is really universal, I've seen people of all different skin tone hail this as their favourite, so it really is a product for everyone.

Overall I think Albatross is a great highlighter, and if you know how to work with it you can achieve an amazing look. It retails at £21 which is very pricey, but I don't regret buying it, it's a product that I fall in and out of love with, but I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

FOTD: summer glow

With the temperature rising I find myself going the minimal route with my face, it's too damn hot to worry about whether or not my face is melting off. The only converge I have is my usual concealer under my eyes, but I'm sure if it gets any hotter I'll abandon that too.

The Polish Files: China glaze fast track

I'm now the proud owner of 3 china glaze nail polishes, all of which are from the recent hunger games capitol collection, however  I can say they certainly won't be my last. Here I'm wearing fast track which I would say is a beige chocked full of gold glitter, it makes a nice change from just plain nudes. I fear I'm slowly but surely becoming a glitter nail polish lover, and it was china glaze that started it off for me. this polish is completely opaque in 2 coats, and still looks great after 3 days of wear.

I purchased mine from ebay
Do you have any china glaze recommendations?

MAC Mineralised skin finish natural review

I'm quite surprised that I haven't done a review on this product yet, I've raved about it in quite a few of my videos, so I'm sure those of you who are subscribed to my youtube channel will know that I absolutely love this!  I find that this is quite a multipurpose product, I use it to set the concealer that I place under my eyes, I use it as a setting powder all over my face or I'll use it to as a powder on it's own, I could go on, but we'll be here forever.

The swatch that I have done is quite heavy but it won't go on this pigmented, it's a translucent powder so you won't find that you get much coverage from it. I use the shade 'Dark' which is perfect for me. The thing I really love about this powder is that it doesn't mattify my skin, it lets any sheen or glow come through, and if you look very closely the powder has a very slight shimmer to it, it's barely noticeable but it's there, but it doesn't translate onto the skin which is great.

As a makeup lover there are a couple of other powders that I want to try, purely out of curiosity, but I sure I'll come right back to my trusty MSF.

I think it's clear for all to see that I love this thing and it's a keeper, I've had this one for months and although I use it every time I apply makeup, I still haven't hit pan on it yet!
Price:  £20.50

Have you tried this out yet? What do you think of it?

Maquillage du Jour: Peachy tones

I've decided to start filming face of the day videos which will be called "Maquillage du Jour", why? It sounds more interesting than saying face of the day :P I noticed that it's been a while since I filmed an actual tutorial, other than the hunger games inspired makeup videos, I just haven't been making normal tutorials. They take me a while to film and edit, and take up most of day that I choose to film them on, so filming what I'll be wearing out means I'll be able to film more, and I don't have to spend most of my weekend filming and editing. These won't takes the place of tutorials though, I even have a few planned :D

Shopping my stash # 2

The time has come again for me to delve into my collection and start to show some products love. For the past month or so now my makeup has been very minmal, as I've recently began to make more of a effort, I thought I'd take advantage and use up some products in my stash. This time round there are a fair few, I wanted to give myself a good selection, so that I wouldn't get bored, plus I'm on a mission to finish things up.

The nail polish files: E.LF's Desert haze

When I first purchased this colour, I thought it was going to be love at first swipe, but when I tried it on I hated it! As you guys must know by now, I'm trying to improve the health of my nails and grow them out. When my nails are short I never really bother with them as I don't like the look of nail polish on my short nails, but I don't like naked nail either, queue E.l.F's Desert haze. I wanted to have my nails painted whilst they grow out,  I didn't want to have to bother with choosing a new colour every time I repainted, and as it was a colour I wasn't fond of, I wanted to use it up and make way for something else. Funnily enough, now that I've been using this as my "grow out" polish it has really grown in me.
It's opaque in two coats and lasts around two days without chipping, for £1.50 I don't think that's too shabby.

Have you tried E.L.F polishes?

March favourites

As you can see March was most definitely a minimal makeup month for me, I found that I was just not all too bothered about putting in that much effort into my makeup. My look has been so basic which is refreshing, plus I get my makeup done in record time, so I have time to chill before I have to head off to work.

FOTD: Crossed wires

Hello there everyone! It feels like forever since I last posted, I'm trying to get my blogging/vlogging mojo back so bare with me :)
To ease myself back in, I have a face of the day post for you, this is the makeup that I've been rocking for the past couple of weeks. I never thought I'd be the kind of person that could go liner less, but here I am with my eyelids all kinds of nekkid. I've just not been feeling eyeshadow, plus without liner I can actually really see my lashes which is nice. MACs crosswires lipstick has been my lippy of choice recently, I started using it as I realised I bought it last year, but never wore it out, ever, which it pretty terrible as MACs lipsticks are not cheap! I'm so glad I forced myself to use it, it looks coral for some reason in the tube but as you can see, it's a really wearable pink that suits my skin tone, but I have no doubt it's a shade that will suit a lot of people.

Nail Tek foundation II review

If some of you remember this post that I did a while back, I bought some products in the hope that they'd cure me of my unhealthy nail problem. My nails have been peeling and splitting at the side for a couple of years now, and I have no clue why as I look after them.

I started using this product right after I bought it early December of last year, so I feel I've tested it out for long enough to give a review on it. I picked up the Nail Tek foundation II because a youtuber raves about how much this stops her nails from peeling, I wish I could say this did the same for me, but it didn't.
To be fair I've noticed a lot less peeling, the problem I have with this product is that my nails don't feel strong, you see the length of my nails in the picture above? Well that's pretty much as long as they get these days. This product does not strengthen my nails one bit so they just break really easily! I like for my nails to have a bit of length so I can shape them, plus I love how polish looks on them when they are a tad bit longer.

The picture below is of me wearing the same polish, Barry M's peach melba if you were wondering (It was in my early beauty blogging days so the picture isn't the best lol) but you can see the length to my nails, and to think I thought some of the nails where short.
The nail treatment that I was using before this was the Nail Tek II intensive therapy, this one feels like more of a base coat as once applied it has a shiny finish, the foundation II on the other had dries milky and matte. The reason why I switched from the intensive therapy was because of the fact that my nails continued to peel, however I miss how strong they felt when I used it.

The foundation II can be found on amazon for around £4-5, however I paid £12.50 on amazon because I didn't shop around properly.  Because of how much I paid for it I'm determined to finish this up, so I try and use two coats during my mani.

I will NOT be buying this again, I've had people recommend to me a Sally Hansen treatment that I think I'll try out next, if that doesn't work I'll just go back to the intensive therapy II.

Do you have problematic nails?

February favourites

I thought I'd share with you all a few of the products that I've been loving recently and more specifically in February.  I've been really trying to make a conscious effort to use up my products,  so hopefully you'll see a favs video for March :)

What products were you loving in February?

Sleek blush by 3: Lace

Now we are on to the 5th and final palette, yay! It took a while but I got there in the end folks. When I first saw Lace I thought it was not going to suit my skin tone, it looked like the colours would be "too light" however thankfully I don't think that will be the case.

Sleek blush by 3: Pumpkin

I'v been really lazy with these blush posts as they take forever to edit, luckily after this one I just  have 1 more left, which would be lace. Pumpkin is the palette I'd say looked most 'fun' if that makes sense, there are a nice mix of colours but don't think this one will be a favourite, only time will tell I guess.

26 February 2012

Sleek blush by 3: Flame

Flame is the palette with the more red blushes as you can see, although I'm sure most of the palettes will get used, this is the one I see myself using the most!

Review: The body shop hemp foot protector

The body shop had a 50% off deal on some products a couple of weeks ago, so I took it as an opportunity to not only stock up on my favourite hand cream which is the hemp hand protector, but I also decided to try out some new products. One of the new items that I picked up was the hemp foot protector which I got because I love the hand cream so much. It wasn't a surprise to me that I feel in love with the foot cream too, sometimes I find it hard to really get my feel moisturised, yes tmi, but dry skin is something I know a lot of people have a problem with. I like to use this right after I've take my shower whilst my feet are really soft and I apply a generous amount of it, needless to say my feet feel moisturised and they look it too!

The consistency of this is really thick which I love, you just have to look at it in the tub to see that it's going to be super moisturising. The scent of this product is what I would describe as being 'earthy', If you've used the hand protector is has a similar scent to it, honestly I wasn't a fan of the it, but I'm so used to it now that I don't even notice it anymore.

The price is £10 for 100ml, as I'd ordered it online I was really surprised at the size, it was a lot smaller than I was expecting, but as I did get it half price I was something I could over look.

I really love this product and I will be repurchasing it when this tub done, I'll probably try and stock on when it's next on offer thought. I'm really pleased with the products that I've tried from the hemp line so far and I've got my eye on the other products in their line, though I'm sure I'll be waiting for those to come on offer too :D

Have you tried the hemp foot protector?

Sleek blush by 3: Pink sprint

The next blush I have to show you is Pink sprint, It's the one that stood out the most for me and the one I knew I had to have, even though I don't wear pink blush often. However I can see myself reaching for these shades a lot, especially pinktini and pink parfait.

19 February 2012

Sleek Blush by 3: Sugar

Sleek have released 5 new blush palettes, 3 of which I have acquired. I honestly had no clue they were even going to release them, I'm usually on top of the new products that Sleek brings out, but these came out of nowhere, however they were a welcome surprise. I have a thing for sleek blushes, I think I own 11 of them so I was curious to see the colours that where in the new palettes but also I wanted to add them to my collection as these are limited edition. I decided to give each blush its own post as there is a lot of swatching going on and I still need to get my hands on the last 2.

15 February 2012

My new Z palette

My La femme blushes finally have a home! I took the plunge and got a Z palette  to organise all of the random eye shadows and blushes that were hanging around. I opted for the pro sized mainly because of my OCD ways, I knew with the large size it wouldn't be able to fit 3 La femme blushes in one neat row, I know that sounds crazy, but I can't help it. I may even end up rearranging the palette as I'm not liking that space where a 9th blush should be. I got mine from love makeup for £19.99, they have a couple other palettes sizes, the large and the small size. I foresee myself buying the other sizes in the future, maybe the small size for travel.

Do you own a Z palette?

La Colors nail polish haul

These are part of the beauty products that I bought in this post, but I thought they needed a post of their own as they're pretty :D
You're probably thinking "woah that's a lot of polish to buy in one go" and yes, yes it is, but these were only 99p so I went wild! I even picked up a few glitters polishes as my collection is lacking and these were so sparkly, I was like a moth to a flame. As you can see I haven't swatched any of them, but I'm sure a few of these will crop up my in a NOTD/the polish files post or two. If you live in London you can pick these up from beauty base in Westfield.
